On April 16, 2025, local residents, experts and policymakers gathered at the New Performing Arts Center for a democracy forum that featured a keynote by civil rights lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill, esteemed civil rights lawyer and former leader of NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF).
