The Fund for New Jersey celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1994 by producing a reflective essay entitled, “Making A Difference: The First Twenty-Five Years of The Fund for New Jersey.” The essay shared reflections from previous executive directors and Board members about The Fund’s philanthropic origins. Since 1969, The Fund has focused on philanthropic investments that emphasized systemic change, public policy, and innovative solutions to address New Jersey’s most pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. Rather than focusing on direct social services, The Fund prioritized initiatives that could create long-term impact and catalyze change while maintaining an enduring commitment to improving the lives of New Jersey residents.
